South Clerk Street

Newington, / Southside. An area where recent government happy statistics showed that all morale had been sapped and that EH8 was the most unhappy area in all Edinburgh.

Still, happiness is being restored in the form of the Gifford Park mural and all that nasty unseemly graffiti is being replaced by something altogether nicer. William Hills hadn't yet drawn up a list of odds for who might be first to desecrate this mural, but my money's on Wonky and an each way bet on Rodney or Alce might be a reasonable punt, too.

The keen of sight amongst you (OK, I***A*C**** I mean you) will have noticed that the Holy Trinity of the Record Shak, a Cigs tag and a subject has been achieved. I would have held out for a light trail too, but the lighting on the Cigs would be too poor, so it had to be daylight.

After a dull day of office based tedium, alleviated by repeated playing of Step Eleven by Blue Rose Code interspersed with liberal amounts of Nina Simone and the Libertines saw me chum her home and nab this little beauty.

White pen on bus stop (for a 14, 47, 12 and 33, fact fans), undated. Vertical, tricky for a right hander. Just sayin'
