In memory
We visited Ground Zero and the 9/11 memorial today. A haunting place - an event that happened in our lifetime. One I watched on TV as it played out thousands of miles away unbelieving that it could be real. A very scary day.
The memorial is as awesome as it is tragic. This single rose was placed on the engraved name of James Michael Roux. He lost his life on United 175, one of the two planes to hit the towers.
While I have some great images of the memorial and the new World Trade Centre building, they are just pictures.
Over 300 firefighters died that day as well as thousands of others. You can't imagine how much it must have it tore out of the heart of this city. Thankfully it is rebuilt and all those like James will be remembered.
