Our man Claude, the chimney sweep came round this morning for our annual clear out. He is only working mornings at the moment as its too hot in the afternoons, he says.

He is very thorough and our fire now sparkles as if it was brand new. And long may it remain so. I generally never need to light it until after the clocks change at the end of October.
