Holy Môla
In the absence of any soleil off Roscoff today our group decided (or more accurately, I persuaded Mrs B and our two friends) to go Mackerel fishing out on Betty Blue. Happily for me I caught the minimum requisite of four fish for our nights dinner before unsubstantiated seasickness claims from Angela, as well as the constant drizzle and sea swell brought about an earlier return to the marina than this fisherman had hoped for.
However, though the sun had failed to show itself all day, a real ray of sunshine was a first-ever spotting for all of us of a Ocean Sunfish seen just off Roscoff. This was a small one as they can get huge.
The Ocean Sun Fish or Mola Mola (Môle in French ) is the worlds " largest boney fish" according to St. Wiki and eats nothing but lots of rather un-nutritional jelly fish hence their large size.
After eating all the lovely French bread, cheese and seafood since arriving, I can empathise. Bring on those lovely fried french Maquereau for dinner.
