the road home

Today I left Exeter and travelled up to North Devon to my childhood home.
I hadnt taken this route for several years and I was very happy to find it unchanged. I always loved this road through the little beech wood and its magical green light.
It was a bit sad to say goodbye to my old friend, but poignant and sweet as ever to arrive at my mother's house in the village where I grew up.
