The Series Finale

And so with the series finale on the big screen, the girls gathered to witness the event together. They provided the appropriate foods and beverages and then settled into their favorite viewing locations. The next three hours would present highs and lows but more importantly the inevitable ending.

As for me, the requirements were a bit different. Dinner was to be ingested before the event. The computer was at arms reach, and the most valuable piece to the ensemble, the headphones, were in place. And so the next three hours were spent.

As the evening came to a close and the crumbs and dirty glasses were being removed, I silently unplugged and re-entered their lives. You see sometimes it's good to shut out the world. I was thoroughly inspired and entertained by my moment of solitude. But in the end I needed to return to those I love, to re-enter their lives. And isn't that how we are designed, to be in fellowship, but to also need time to set apart, to set apart for quiet, to listen, to pray, to be in a different kind of conversation?

The series ended, but life continues.
