Croque

A great wander around the Ile De Cite and the neighbouring Ile St Louis during the day, the central part of which was obviously a simple but perfect lunch in a bustling brasserie place of croque monsieur, frites, biere a le presion and a cafe expresso to finish.

Packed RER train early evening out to Marne La Vallee Chessy for the next leg of our holidays. Disneyland Paris ahead, but as I sat out in the evening sun having an alfresco refreshment whilst my children ran around like loons I didn't really have a care in the world...

Music choice for today - well, an absolute French legend is buried in Montparnasse Cemetry, which was only about 10 minutes walk from our  hotel, and, although I have actually visited his resting place in the past, I was keen to go again this morning. But circumstances (not to mention the welcome surprise of an unexpected free hotel breakfast) meant it wasn't to be. Next time, next time...
