Cycling at Loch Arkaig
Backblip
A perfect day of cycling along the south side of Loch Arkaig. It was sunny and breezy so it was hard work on the outward leg but we had the wind behind us on the way home. A mile from the car park Mr BF met a pickup which was driving far too quickly along the single track road. Whether the driver didn't see Mr EP or whether he just didn't slow down, we don't know. However EP had a narrow escape, managing to cycle into a gravel covered layby. He skidded on the gravel and fell off, dislocating his left hand, seriously injuring his right elbow on the gravel and bruising his right shoulder and right hand.
Cutting a rather long story short, we managed to get back to the car and I drove us to the hospital in Fort William where the staff looked after EP admirably. A tough end to what had been a wonderful day but very thankful that things hadn't turned out more seriously.
