mull #2

I suppose it was to be expected (and we had planned well for it) but we awoke today to a grey and drizzly Mull. The kind of grey and drizzly that is clearly here to stay for the day. I had almost hoped for a day like this, miserable enough outside to make sure you don’t feel guilty for spending the whole entire day indoors, reading and drinking coffee, which was pretty much what we did - interspersed with the odd bit of DVD watching and sheep gazing. It’s been so nice to switch off from the world for a bit and immerse fully into a book without distraction.

By the afternoon we were in need of a cup of tea and so ventured around the coast to the local village (read: 3 houses, a grotty pub and the tiniest Spar shop in the world). Found enough network en route to send another ‘we are alive’ text to mum (CS: we have both tried to message you but have failed so far. We miss you!).

We purchased our teabags from the grumpiest shopkeeper in the world - clearly, he doesn’t need to worry about competition or actually being nice to people.

Back to the cottage for more reading, more DVDs, dinner and wine. It’s been a lovely, relaxed day - but please weather - cheer up tomorrow thank you.
