War Memorial
A visit to Aboyne on a cold July morning. Not sure whether it is us having got too used to the warmth of San Francisco or whether it is just plain cold. A bit of both I think. No rain but about 13 degrees, I had on a warm gilet, and it did not feel too much.
After coffee and cake in Aboyne we went to see the art exhibition at the War Memorial Building. On the way in I grabbed a shot of the stained glass window next to the entrance. A good exhibition with a lot of works on display.
In the afternoon we ventured to Fittie, Aberdeen's fishing village. This is fairly sheltered, though like San Francisco it is on a grid layout so the wind is channeled into certain streets. We found an art studio there, never seen it open before. We chatted to the artist and bought a card. She had some nice pictures on display. I have attached the link to her website.
Lots of catching up to do now we are back!
