San Francisco - Golden Gate Bridge

We all had a disturbed night's sleep due to jet lag. At 4am this morning I was drinking herbal tea and Gavin and I were planning our day. We watched the runners from the San Francisco marathon from our bedroom window, and then tried to go back to sleep at about 6am. We eventually went out for a walk at about 8am and it was foggy with poor visibility. We could hardly see the Golden Gate bridge and it was cold.

After breakfast we went on the hop on hop off bus tour of San Francisco and Sausalito. It was a very interesting tour which covered most areas, but it was so cold and windy that eventually it became unbearable. The forecast was 25C and sunny, but we were all freezing in the icy wind. When we got to Sausalito it was sunny and we decided to get off the bus and eat lunch there.

It is not easy trying to find a restaurant to eat in. For some reason most of them do not take reservations, and when you get there you have to queue for about 30 minutes. Twice now we have arrived at a half empty restaurant to be told we need to wait about 15 minutes while they find a table for us...? We had a very good lunch in Sausalito, and then caught the ferry back so we could see the views of the bridge. This view is from Fort Baker near Sausalito.

There are some extra images of the sea lions at Pier 39 and the wonderful architecture. There are some lovely areas with beautiful wooden painted houses (the 'painted ladies') but we also went through Tenderloin which is infamous for its crime, drugs and homeless people. The pavements were full of homeless people sleeping up and down the streets, and there was so much litter and rubbish lying around. We were advised not to visit Tenderloin at night - I doubt we would even consider it!

For some reason the extra images will not upload? Also, my image seems perfectly exposed on my laptop screen but when I check my blip on my iPad or phone it is looking very under exposed - not sure what you are seeing, as I am not sure which is the true exposure.
