...for these grandly named Chorizma cordatum and more poetically known heart-leaf flame pea.
Endemic to southwest Western Australia and native to eucalyptus forests these beauties are glowing on the verge in our street and  a sure sign that spring really is on the way.

Not only a fabuloso combo of colours the flame pea has been awarded the Royal Agricultural Society's  Award of Garden Merit 'a mark of quality awarded, since 1922, to garden plants (including trees, vegetables and decorative plants) by the  (RHS)'.
A hefty 'gong' for a delicate little pea!
