The Pirate of Porthcawl.

Just after breakfast, I had a telephone call to say that my friend, Andrea, had passed away earlier this morning.  I was going to visit her in hospital this afternoon. She was only fifty years old.
J wanted to go to  a model show in Porthcawl,  and I thought it would be a great blip opportunity, and it was. We parked the car , and I could hear music, coming from the centre of the town. J went off to Trinity church where the show was being held, and  the town was holding a pirate themed day. In the centre, they had a wooden stock set up, and for 50p you could throw water soaked sponges at  the chosen victim  volunteer. I stood nearby, with my camera, and he said , over the load speaker, what about that lady there with the camera.  I politely declined, and walked a bit further away. A few minutes  later, the Mayor, and Mayoress, went into the stocks, and the were lots of people throwing the sponges at them. Better sports than me , obviously! The street was lined with stalls, selling all sorts of arts and crafts. I  walked  down the main street, and across the sea front, where there were lots more attractions. See my extra photos. It was sunny and warm, for a change. I  walked around for  over an hour, and then J phoned me to ask if I was ready. I was, so I met him outside the church, and we walked back to the car. He had enjoyed the show, and had met a few of the guys who he had seen at the show we went to in Barry, about a fortnight ago. It was good to see Porthcawl so busy, with people enjoying the sunshine. The forecast for tomorrow is wet, again. Curry tonight, so I am looking forward to that.
