Before the rain

Glad we got into town early as we had a nice little play at the playground before the rain started. It's still raining now 10 hours later!

Lovely coffee and lunch with Lucy and Edward at Livingstones Café - which has a nice toddler play area. Matthew enjoyed his cake and my baked beans but didn't eat much of his toastie :)

He had a short nap on the way home but woke up too much on coming into the house to sleep any more. He did potter off and play nicely by himself for over half an hour while I rested. He did some more nice playing most of the afternoon too. Very amused at him requesting 'cay' - by which he meant modelling clay. When I got it out it turned out he wanted to roll it in a ball and try use a sharp pencil to pole holes in a plastic tub just like Mister Maker. With full running commentary - I was impressed.

Overtired by bedtime but could have been much worse. Thoroughly kicking myself for not getting any snaps with Edward though.
