Better than expected

I've been pleasantly surprised by Vietnam. Firstly by how interesting Hanoi is and more importantly by the friendliness of the people.

I know several people who have lived here and they are not fans of the place, however I've found people to be much more welcoming and kind than I'd been led to believe. Of course it's a different kettle of fish if you live somewhere for a long time.

I've just got to remember that being ignored is not rudeness, just the Buddhist way of burying emotion!
