My beach, Muriwai.  Moody, powerful, unpredictable.  Respect mandatory.
The southern end of 50km of unbroken beach extending up the Tasman Sea on the west coast of Auckland. 

Even in winter the childhood memories of bare feet burning on super-heated black sand are fresh.
