Dragonfly

This afternoon I went in search of a rare butterfly that had been seen in Chambers wood near to Lincoln. The Butterfly in question is a Purple Emperor.
I hung around the Log pile where it had been seen but nothing around. So I went for a walk to get a few shots of other butterflies I got a few shots of some Small Skippers and also a shot of a possible Essex skipper but not an expert. I was rewarded with this shot of a Dragonfly.
While walking back to the car park  someone asked me if i had seen the purple emperor as it had been reported. So i took a walk back with the 2 chaps who had been told it was around and we managed to get a view of it before it flew up into the tree tops so no photo shot will try again Saturday weather permitting
