Korpo Sea Jazz
A jazz happening called Korpo Sea Jazz started in Korppoo yesterday. We haven't seen this much crowd in Korppoo centre before. It was nice to listen live music in the sunshine. In the band played Mikko Innanen, Mathias Låmgbacka, Mikko Innanen, Luumu Kaikkonen, Alarik Repo and Jussi Fredriksson.
We visited Korpoo church, which is the most facinating church to me.
The Korppoo Church was built between years 1430 and 1440. It represents the oldest church architecture in Finland. Good example of this is the stone tower, which was probably built for defensive purposes, not for belfry. When the church was renovated in 1952-1953, several overpainted medieval wall paintings were found overpainted and restored. The oldest wooden statue in Finland, "Korppoon madonna", was originally in the Korppoo Church.
Then we drove to Nauvo to see an auction. Kike bought an old wooden sofa from Nauvo's antique store. That store is full of interesting old
stuff!
In the evening we painted.
+18 C, cloudy and sunny
