Parys Mountain, Anglesey
We drove to Anglesey and had a marvellous day exploring Parys Mountain an old open cast copper mine. It's massive and well worth visiting. There is a visitor centre in the nearby town of Almwch which we didn't go to but I think it would really help to understand the site more.
After a late lunch we drove across the island to the RSPB reserve at South Stack where there's a lighthouse and observation tower. The volunteers were very welcoming and showed us puffins and a peregrine falcon through a telescope.
A very enjoyable day with fine weather too.
Apologies for not keeping up with everyone's journals and comments.
