The water carrier...

For joep with love.

A poem written for joep by a friend of AP's, Nollaig O'Donnell.

The Truth of the Imagination.

What view is this?
What do I see?
The water flows beside the trees.
The mountains rise from the lake-side edge.

My gaze ascends this mixed-green wedge.

And standing high on mountain top,
My mind stands tall - my thoughts to stop.

I face the breeze;my eye-lids drop.

I taste the water in the air.
I hear the birds - their call to pair.
I stoop to touch the rugged grass.
I feel the Earth in my small grasp.

And opening, wide, my eyes once more;
I find I haven't left the shore.

To ford the lake, and scale the heights;
Imagination will, in truth,
Take flight!

And then we had an icecream tribute.  See today's extra photo.
