analog computer
Forecast for unseasonal weather, so we decided to visit the Deutsche Museum in Munich. We had a good look at the ships and associated paraphernalia which lead to today's blip: an analog computer used to compute the tides. Apparently it's the biggest mechanical computer ever. Each wheel computes a partial tide represented by a harmonic, all partial tides are mechanically added up to yield the total tide. Very impressive.
We also enjoyed the high voltage show and ventured onto the second floor where we checked out industrial ceramics, glass, paper and printing.
The Deutsche Museum is a fantastic place and a fantastic place to visit.
