Thirsty

Our friends' house in Moliet has a lovely pool which is very welcome in the hot weather here.

I have always tried to avoid drinking the water in swimming pools.  The water in this pool is only lightly chlorinated, so a lot more pleasant than the public pools at home, but I still aim to avoid drinking it.

The local swallows, however, find it a great source of drinking water, and most mornings and evenings there is a brief period when several of them swoop low over the pool and dip their beaks in to scoop up some water. I have seen this several times over the last couple of days, but never when I had my camera ready.   As this morning is our last morning here, I made an extra effort.  This is the only shot I managed to get, but it illustrates the phenomenon pretty well.
