Karma's a Bitch

Should have been a good day. Filmed my second piece for STV Edinburgh, this time doing Portobello Pottery, starting in the local park, which was a claypit originally for the industry, then down at the prom, and finally chatting to a guy from the Heritage Trust at the two remaining kilns. He was utterly superb, just brilliant, and the guy filming (and editing) who did the last piece with me, could not have been more complimentary about my ability to do this kind of thing. Research done; pieces to camera nailed first time; apparently I have the feel of a presenter (which is just as well).

So proving the first time wasn't a fluke, realising I can do this to a good standard after thinking/hoping I could for a long while and finally getting the chance and grasping it, and then it was back to the computer and dealing with work emails. It wasn't anything in particular that was wrong, but just made me think what could be and what is. So with an odd sort of melancholy in the air it wasn't a night for Mel to e down about a variety of things (sparked by a tiny scrape on the new alloy wheels that'll cost peanuts to fix in comparison to the cost of the wheel).

Tomorrow's another day. Need to work out a couple of voiceover bits to add for STV next week, and should all be on telly middle of the week-ish. What with this, the writing and photographing cycling events for publication by the national sport body, and a couple of books I've basically finished writing.... Something's got to give and start paying me...

Melancholic. I'm basically a combination of the two Greenfinches at the moment.
