If you're happy and you know it
This is a place holder photo, just so I can write about my day.
We met our daughter for the first time today!
I want to try and capture my first impressions so that I can remember the moment and also so we can show this to her in the years to come.
we've been dreaming about her for months and we had been told that she can be very cautious of new people, so we weren't quite sure what reception we would get, or what to expect ... when we arrived at the foster carers house, her little face instantly came peeping around the door, all cheeky grin and curiosity. Then we were intently watched by great big saucer eyes, with little flashes of smiles as she stayed near her foster carers... Pretty soon we we're being presented with all the toys from the toy box, she handed them to us then darted away... In hardly any time at all we were playing ball across the room, with her giggling at each pass. We gave her the little lion toy and she took great delight in making the roaring noise, until she discovered that it goes boing!! so then she was bouncing it on the floor, until she discovered it was more fun to bounce it off our heads... at this point we realised that this is no timid little girl... she is full of fun and energy... with a good right hook as well... her big, watchful eyes take in everything that is going on and she totally responds to the mood in the room, thriving on other people's smiles...
later in the visit we were treated to hi fives and even cuddles. I'm never going to get tired of those cuddles...
It's early days and we've still got to do a lot of getting to know each other, but I can't wait to see her again tomorrow and the next day and all of the days after that....
