Silver Burn, Alva Woodland Park

On a walk towards Silver Burn from the car park the noise of a rushing water could always be heard. The fall itself however was not visible as it is in a narrow gorge beside some inaccessible old mine workings. I recall once visiting these a few years ago before they were fenced off in the company a former colleague, Murray D, who was very knowledgeable about their history and development.
A new viewing platform (extra photo) has now been constructed above the falls , allowing a fine view of the water.
