High School Softball
Our high school softball and baseball teams are in their last week of the season. Tonight...the quarterfinal games were played. One of our local teams were playing. Lisa got off work early...and off we went.
Softball stays in your blood. Out daughter was a pitcher in high school in 1997. Lots of pressure on the pitcher, and on the pitchers parents. I used to mumble from the sidelines..."Forget about the curveball...Julie...give 'em the heater." She was all-league, and we made a good tournament run. Always is sad when it ends.
The girls from Lake Fenton didn't do too well. They only got 1 hit, and lost 6-0. I blame the loss on the name of their team...the Blue Devils. Besides Duke...who calls themselves the Blue Devils?
When you get this far along...the game is usually decided by pitching and defense. This series of pictures...going clockwise from the upper left...shows the other teams player getting a double...after our 3rd baseman dropped a foul ball which should have been the 3rd out. Gotta catch the ball when you have the chance.
Not a great game, but we did have a nice afternoon buying some plants, doing a little shopping, and having a delicous turkey dinner.
