Boston and Newhouse Buildings

I have been passing these two buildings for quite some time.

Each time I have passed, I have had the urge to take a shot.  Well today was the day that I succumbed to temptation.  :-)

These two buildings were built in 1909 and mirror each other's facades.  I like the curved walls.

Samuel Newhouse, son of Russian immigrants, was the investor who built them.  He made his money in mining as well as real estate.  Ultimately he lost most of his fortune prior to world war I and was never able to regain his financial standing prior to his death in 1930.

But you can't feel too bad for him.  When he lost everything he moved in with his sister in her french chateau.
