Blue Skimmer dragonfly

With a heat index of 111º (43.5º) I almost opted to photo something inside.  But I bit the bullet and walked down to the creek bridge where the dragonflies are in abundance.  I just had   to wait for them to land!

I took this photo of Neenah under the crepe myrtles.  As they are in full bloom, the ground is covered in their tiny pink petals and gives the photo a nice hue.  :-)

It's been an inside quiet day with all this heat.  Even the overnight low was only 80º (23.5º)
