A Prickly Pose

I originally took a snap of this bird at a distance and silhouetted against the sky. After just one shot, it flew - not away, but closer to me and posed nicely for me on a gorse bush where I managed anothe half-dozen shots.

It is a male linnet, Acanthis cannabina
