Stuck for Bobbins?

Inside an old barn discovered during my cycle ride today.

"Northerners" will know this, but "Stuck for Bobbins" is an old Lancashire expression meaning "Having nothing to do".
It dates back to the era of the  Mills which proliferated throughout the county - by 1860 there were over 2500 mills employing 400k+ people.  If the mill ran out of cotton (i.e. the bobbins), then there was no work - and no pay!
