The freshwater jellyfish is a rare jellyfish species which, as the name already States, in fresh water lakes. Only under certain circumstances turns up the jellyfish on. The most important factor is the temperature, which serves for longer period around or above 25 degrees. Since not every year in Netherlands that is the case, it is quite rare that this jellyfish itself shows.
The freshwater jellyfish is native to China, but over the years the jellyfish around the world. Throughout the year life the jellyfish as small polyps on the bottom of a lake but when the temperature of the water rises, the jellyfish can become jellyfish.
