A mass of colour

We needed more tatties and strawberries so drove down to the Farmshop at Tore and then on to Redcastle to eat our lunch. We had a very tasty beef sandwich made with seeded bread from our local bakery.
It was warm enough to sit on the benches outside in front of the Beauly Firth. The tide was out and we watched gulls, crows and a few waders picking about on the mudflats. I spotted a mallard family with the smallest babies I have ever seen . Think this may have been their first outing.
As always the gardens and roadside looked wonderful but I especially liked the bath tub which was full of livingstone daisies. The sun was out and they were happily showing their faces.
We drove back along the road next to the Firth and down for a quick look under the Kessock Bridge to see if the otters were there. The tide was now coming in and there was quite a current. Did nt see any otters but did see a dolphin catch a fish and happily jumped and leaped a few times.
