Part of life's journey.
I had a telephone call this morning, from a girl I used to work with, that started with the words, I have some bad news for you. A friend, that we both worked with, is dying of cancer. She was fifty in February. I saw her a few months ago, and she told me that she had just split up from her partner, and was having to find somewhere else to live. I gave her a hug, and told her how sorry I was. She said that she hadn't been feeling very well, but I thought it could be the stress . The bad news really shocked me. About an hour later, I had another phone call, from another friend that I used to work with, and she started the conversation with the same words. She has only been diagnosed in the last few days.
Just before lunch J said he wanted to go to Porthcawl, to the model shop, and I jumped at the chance to get out of the house. He wasn't in there long, and then we drove back through Maudlam. I got out to take a few photos, and I liked this one best, as you can see the busy M4 motorway, and in the distance, the crematorium at Margam, where my Mum & Dad were cremated. We go rushing around in our daily lives, and none of us know what is around the corner.
