Abandoned Calvary

Something poignantly lonesome about this neglected garden in Carcassonne. It was built around the theme of the Stations of the Cross.
It must have been beautiful once. Now the plants are dying for lack of care and several of the statues are broken.
This was taken inside the "tomb" where all images of death are now shattered. It's as if the locality is saying we don't need to reflect on these things anymore.
I'm not as sure about that.
