Thistle Be Summer Then?

With a MonoMonday theme of "Summer" you'd expect I would have many options up here for my blip today... alas a Scottish Summer usually happens in late spring so we'll have had our Summer!

When I took this from maybe 4 feet away I could see there was a beastie crawling about on the top, but reviewing up close, it appears to be climbing over another beastie  which has nosedived into Thickest Thistle! What is going on!
