Green Pond .....

Great White Egret.

On our way back an antique steam engine show I saw this beautiful white heron (AKA: Great White Egret) at Green Pond.  This is the first time we have even seen a great white egret at this small lake.  I believe this to be an non-breeding adult egret as he/she does not have the usual breeding plumage. 

We had another unusual sighting at this location ..... a green heron.  I had just mentioned to R that there was supposed to be green herons' here but I had never seen one.  And two seconds later ......

Sadly, I didn't get a photo of the green heron.
