Things I like about Islip

I've been to the village of Islip for a work related meeting this evening, which was not one of the things I like about Islip.
Things I do like:-
Edward the Confessor was born there
they have a mosaic on their village hall commemorating the birth of Edward the Confessor
they have an Edward the Confessor themed playground. Yes, really
Robert Graves and his wife Nancy lived there, when Robert was at Oxford. Nancy was an early feminist and wanted to live in a village with a tower not a spire.
It is on the edge of Otmoor which is written about lyrically in Susan Hill's "the magic apple tree"
