Barton Farm - mm77, Summer
Thanks to Irunlykagirl for hosting today's MonoMonday, mm77, on Summer.
Well, of all the beautiful days we've had over the last 2 months (in Hampshire, UK) today was not the ideal one to be blipping 'Summer' for MonoMonday. I was beginning to search around in my head for summery props and fake sunshine (ie lamps), but this afternoon the sky got lighter and I got cabin fever, so I took the camera out for a walk on Barton Farm. And we did have a few bits of sunshine - not a lot, as you can see from the sky (actually, typical English summer!), but enough to give the barley fields a little bit of a polish!
This one, as you can see, is not yet cut, though it was very close to here I blipped the harvester on Friday. The house is Barton Farmhouse. Soon it will be surrounded by 2,000 new homes, so I was really quite chuffed to get a shot of it as I've always know it till now. The trees on the left mark the edge of a Roman road, since when the farmed land became the property of Hyde Abbey. I'm guessing the site where the house now stands could be pretty old.
So that's about me for now and supper duty calls. Mexican, I think. Have a good evening and talk to you later xx
