Young oak tree
Until today I had not noticed this little oak tree, although I pass it probably four or five times each week during my photo walks in our neighborhood park. It is growing in an area of scrubby plants and trees, and there was nothing to distinguish it until it turned this lovely Autumn red. My walk was cut short right after I took this picture by a loud rumble of thunder followed by a flash of light, and I headed for home. As a result, this little tree gets the blip honors for today. I'm hoping the rains will go away by election day tomorrow.
