D2: Sliema: Festivals, Beach & fountains

We went over to Sliema by ferry as that is the nearest supermarket. We had bought stuff in the Wembly store the day before but that is very expensive. Sliema is not as pretty as Velletta but we wander around the place. We turn into a street full of bunting and decorations, statues of saints are on platforms along the road. Including a fairly grotesque one of John the Baptist. Its part of the festival for the local church.


We go to the beach, find a playpark, lie under a tree for a long time. And then for lunch. Go shopping. That evening we find a fountain for Brodie to run around in. And that night the fireworks kick in.
