Poisonous caterpillars

We saw lots of these caterpillars on St Catherine's Hill (on the edge of Winchester) today. They are eating ragwort, which is poisonous and in turn makes the caterpillars poisonous to predators, which you would guess from those markings anyway. After the cocoon stage they turn into rather lovely looking cinnabar moths..
