Family

Lovely family day with my niece and her two wee ones in Fife: Michael, 7 years old and Katie at 18 months. They're very different - Michael's a bundle of constant energy, wanting to show you things, play games, put on magic shows for you and take you outside to see his den. Katie's more self-contained and quite happy playing by herself and singing away. Michael's very cuddly and affectionate, whereas Katie's a bit more choosy with her kisses and cuddles.

Michael always gets excited when we visit and asks us why we can't visit more often, why we can't just go by car and not plane and this time wanted to know how long it would take to get to Barcelona by boat. Perhaps he's planning to visit us!

Back in Edinburgh at night and dinner at the Himalaya Indian restaurant in Bruntsfield. It was our local way back and we loved it then, but a bit disappointing this time.
