Guide Stone
On the way home from an orienteering event in Middlesbrough I was looking out for something to photograph. Just above Hutton le Hole I had spotted a stone set amongst the Ling that was in full bloom.
However, it was surrounded by a gang of American Tourists so a little patience had to be applied! Fortunately I did not have to wait too long!
This is an 18th century guide stone and I liked the hand pointing out the direction as well as the truncated words and spelling.
May be slow with comments tonight as out to pick up eldest son Stephen and a meal out to catch up on all his news.
