Traffic jam

I was almost late for my last day at work before the summer holidays! Turned a corner to find this lot milling around, with twice as many again en route to the road from the field. The poor farmer and his collie had quite a job rounding them up. Didn't help that after I'd been sitting patiently for almost ten minutes, a pick up truck came speeding round the corner behind me and overtook, ploughing his way through the animals and sending them scattering in the opposite direction. He didn't stop to see the poor farmer struggling on the other side of the valley getting the rest rounded up. Maybe he just isn't a farmer and doesn't get it, whereas I'm from a farming background and had to spend many a time as a kid standing around on roads guiding sheep to help out the folks!
Anyway, after a quarter hour or so he got them all on the road and safely past my car. I did find an errant one further along, no doubt sent running by the pick up, so hopefully the farmer came back for it later.
And so on to work, tying up loose ends, getting sorted for September and a nice sit down lunch in Starbucks. Lunch out for the second day in a row?? Quite a luxury as usually eat at my desk!
