One of Those Days
We went for a walk this morning. It was already quite hot. I took a bunch of photos of insects and miscellaneous other stuff. Since none of the photos jumped out at me particularly today's Blip was an eenie meenie minie moe sort of thing. This is an Eastern Tailed Blue butterfly. They are particular favorites of mine. They're absolutely minute - probably less than an inch across with their wings spread absolutely flat. Except they virtually never spread their wings open. They look blue when they fly, because the tops of their wings are blue, but when they land they close up and the outside/underside of the wing is grey with a touch of orange. I was pleased with this shot mostly because you can see some of the blue! Yay!
Anyway - here it is. And meanwhile here are some of the other shots from our walk, plus - as a bonus - a couple of shots of those tiny mushrooms of the other day. Which have blown up into much bigger mushrooms! Surprise!
