Good morning!

This is what greeted me in the greenhouse this morning! It is Laeliocattleya Hausermann's Sultan 'Summer Spectacular'. There are five more buds yet to open. I don't have many cattleyas but I think I shall have to invest in more from time to time. Laeliocattleya is a nothogenus, a hybrid of Laelia and Cattleya.

On a more modest level, the extra shows Verbena simplex growing in a nearby field. Just as lovely!

Another hot one! Thank goodness we have had as much rain as we have. Normally at this time of year the grass is brown and everything dried up, if it hasn't been watered!
