"Life is just a bowl of cherries" sang Judy Garland. I'm not sure about the reasoning behind the statement, but I do know that the cherries are really good at the moment. We buy ours from a roadside stall which appears every year. It is brought from a cherry orchard in Kent, and a youngster sits under an umbrella in a layby, selling the cherries in brown paper bags. We gorge ourselves on them for the few weeks of the season.
