Nuthatch (Sitta europaea)

I tried out a little experiment at lunch time down at the local nature reserve. Set up the camera on a tripod in front of this peanut feeder, pre-focused and used the IR remote to capture any birds.

This image has a number of issues; it's noisy and the focus isn't sharp, leading to a smearing of detail. I don't think f5.6 is the best aperture for the lens either. Still it's given me some ideas for future captures and having just bought some camouflage netting, I may be able to get up close and personal more easily.
