The 144th Open
Today I visited St Andrews and got the chance to discuss the staging of the 144th Open, the importance of golf to the economy, the health of the sport in general and the development of the sport. I also got the opportunity to see behind the scenes and in particular the huge broadcasting effort to cover the Open.
Play was suspended for over 3 hours in the morning due to heavy rain, which meant that some players couldn't complete their second rounds.
In the afternoon I got out and saw some of the golf as well. This is the Swilcan Bridge, which spans the Swilcan Burn on the 18th hole of the Old Course.
