(More) Earthworks

The slip roads on and off the motorway at junction 34 are perilously short, more so when joining the M6 than leaving it, which is presumably a significant part of the reason that these major renovations are taking place (the other being the new bypass to Morecambe).

The work that's being done is amazing and it has been a constant source of irritation to me that there are very few vantage points from which photos can be taken of this huge project.

Today, though, a lorry had broken down at the foot of the slip road, and traffic swiftly backed up onto the motorway itself. I put down the passenger window and booted up my camera, hoping to take the opportunity to photograph some of the scenes that I usually whizz past with no hope of taking a snap.

It was still a bit frustrating today; the points at which I was stationary didn't afford a particularly good view and didn't dare try and take a photo as the traffic eased slowly forward. This was the best I could do but sometime soon, if I can find the time, I'm going to walk along the Lune and try and get some better shots.
